Planes, trains and automobiles are all great ways to get to here.
All major airlines fly to YYZ (Toronto Pearson International), which is about a 30ish minute drive to downtown, depending on traffic.
Porter Airlines flies to YTZ (Billy Bishop Airport), which is located in the heart of the city. Direct flights come from New York, Boston, Chicago, Montreal, all around Ontario and connecting flights from many more cities via JetBlue.
Toronto is a great starting point for road trips to Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Prince Edward County and cottage country, so if you have a car and feel like driving, it's a great idea.
But, parking and traffic can be an issue because Toronto is a crowded, busy city.
It is about an 8-hour drive from New York City.

About 70% of you hail from outside Toronto (Jeff did the math), so you will need a place to call home for the wedding weekend.
Because many of you are travelling from far and wide to celebrate with us, we want to make the most of spending time with everyone. We are having an entire weekend of wedding fun, so please stay for 3 days if you can (and it's a long weekend!):

While the wedding ceremony and reception are at Airship37 in The Distillery District, we recommend staying in an area that is more central to activities and fun times.
We are renting a house at 12 Stanley Avenue, which will be our "mission control" hub and where we will be hosting the Thanksgiving Open House. This house is near the Gladstone Hotel where we will host our Welcome Drinks.
We have reserved blocks of rooms at SOME of the hotels indicated below, and also suggest using airbnb, VRBO, FlipKey or HomeAway to rent a house/apartment in one of the following parts of town.

STAY HERE IF...you want to be in the heart of fun (and a block away from our Welcome Drinks).
No, this is not named after the famous Toronto Drake you think it might be. But this hotel is in one of our favourite neighbourhoods surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops, and the Drake Cafe is great for brunch. And the rooftop is fun too. We do not have a group rate here, but still highly recommend this funky and fun boutique hotel in what Vogue calls the 2nd coolest neighbourhood in the world.

STAY HERE IF...you want to rub elbows with celebrities and party people.
This sleek luxury boutique hotel is in King West, which is the hub of everything bar and club in Toronto at the moment. Some of our favourite restaurants and cafes are in this area (Bar Buca, Portland Variety and Home of the Brave are just a few), as well as CYKL right across the street, where Dee goes for indoor cycling (well, tries to). We do not have a group rate here, but recommend this for a fancy, good time.

Toronto is a great walking city. We DO NOT recommend driving because traffic is crazy and parking is extremely difficult. But there are tons of other ways to get around.
Uber is dependable and affordable here (Uber X is about 50% less expensive than a metered taxi). Sign up for Uber here using the code bax4u to get your first ride free.
Take the subway, streetcar and bus to get all around town. Pay by cash, token or Day Pass and use the RocketMan app to know exactly when the next train, bus or streetcar is arriving.
You can also hail any taxi with its light on from the street (there are several different companies). Or call Beck Taxi at 416.751.5555 for a pickup.
Look for Green P lots for parking. There are several right around the wedding venue on Parliament, Front and in the Distillery. There is also street parking all around the city, just be sure to read the signs carefully!
If you have a car2go membership, it will work Toronto. Use the app to find the nearest car or keep your eyes peeled for cars parked on the street or at any Green P parking lot.
If you have a Zipcar membership, it will work in Toronto. They're scattered all over the city, so Zipcar is a great idea if you need a car in a pinch.
